Printing across the district has been significantly reduced since Mach 2020. Because of that reduction in usage, our copier and printer vendor, Ray Morgan Company, waived charges for five months in 2020. RMC has now reviewed utilization and has presented an updated maintenance agreement that reflects a three thousand dollar per month savings between January 2021 and the end of the contract in November 2021. The agreement is based on a flat rate charge and is not based on utilization. Under the new agreement, our base contract rate will be reduced from $12,713.50 to $9,715.00 per month. All terms relating to maintenance and copier/printer supplies remain the same. |
| |
| Approve updated maintenance agreement with Ray Morgan Company. |
| Monthly savings including tax will be $3,291. Total savings for the final 11 months of the contract is expected to be $36,199. |

A fire riser was damaged outside the newly remodeled wing at Madison Elementary on November 1. Water from the damaged pipe entered the building causing damage to flooring and walls. The district contacted a vendor that is recommended by our property and liability administrator. The vendor, ATI, immediately responded and began remediating the water damage. ATI's work is divided into two contracts. One is for the water extraction and remediation, with the work already being completed. The cost of that work was $23,813.50. The second contract is to repair flooring and walls that were damaged by water, and to repair walls that were opened up to allow for water removal and drying. The cost of that work is $14,715.67. A claim has been submitted to our property and liability group. It is expected that the full cost of the damage will be recovered, minus the $5,000 member retained limit (deductible). |

| The 2020 TK-12 History Social Science Curriculum adoption process began in eary August 2020. The committee, composed of TK-12 teachers, administrators and specialists from across the district, engaged in a three month digital and print instructional materials review process to meet the demands of the California History Social Science Framework and California History Social Science Standards. Committee members developed an evaluation tool and rubric to conduct a preliminary materials review of multiple publishers, narrowing down to two to conduct a full materials review and pilot. After each program review, committee members completed the rubric to analyze each program, engaged in committee debrief sessions, and gave feedback on the final recommendation report that was presented to the Board Curriculum Committee (BCC) on October 21, 2020. The TK-5 committee elected to create a custom curriculum for adoption. These items will be used for the created units for HSS TK-5. |
