The Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) is a document that represents a school's cycle of continuous improvement of student achievement. The annual process of developing, reviewing, and updating the SPSA includes a comprehensive review of data and the development of actions necessary to achieve school goals. EC Section 64001 specifies that schools and districts that receive state and federal or other applicable funding through the district’s Consolidated Application (ConApp) process prepare a SPSA for any recipient school. SPSA specifics are also included in the Federal Program Monitoring process. The SPSA is used to meet planning requirements for Title I School wide Programs (SWP), Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI), Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI), and Additional Targeted Support and Improvement (ATSI). California Education Code (EC) Section 64001 requires that a School Site Council (SSC) develop the SPSA. The SSC’s responsibilities include approving the plan, recommending it to the local governing board for approval, monitoring its implementation, and evaluating the effectiveness of the planned activities at least annually. The SPSA is a one-year plan that is intended to be developed and approved before or during the school year for which the plan is being implemented. Attached are Jefferson Elementary and John Muir Middle School SPSA’s for the 2021-2022 school year. School site principals have conducted work with their School Site Councils in order to create expenditure plans for the school year that are aligned to the goals, initiatives, and tactics in the district's strategic action plan and Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). Jefferson Elementary is identified as ATSI (Additional Targeted Support and Improvement) school.
