Trunk or Treat at Madison

Trunk or Treat was an incredibly fun night for our whole Madison community! This year, we shifted gears and focused on creating a fun Trunk or Treat experience for our students and families. Our Madison staff, families, Boys & Girls Club, and Champions all helped bring the evening to life.

From BTS and Cookie Monster to Costco samples, unicorn wizardry, a crazy mayor, and Buzz Lightyear, our students enjoyed an evening filled with creativity, laughter, and community spirit.

A special thank you to our new JMPTO President, Minnette Simmons, who leaned in and supported the event even as our PTO continues to rebuild this year. Minnette helped bring in the bouncy house, supported the pumpkin patch, and kept the pizza flowing all evening. We appreciated her energy and willingness to jump in wherever she could.

We hope more families will be inspired to join JMPTO and help us continue building a strong parent community at Madison.

Community Shout Out

Thank you to Sprouts Farmers Market for their generous donation to our Pumpkin Patch at Trunk or Treat. Their support helped make the evening even more special for our students and families.

We are grateful for community partners who invest in joyful experiences for Madison students.

Mustang Parade Details

Classes will begin heading to the basketball area of the playground for the parade. TK and Kindergarten will parade first and may return to class afterward if teachers feel students are getting restless.

Our Student Council will help bring each class into the inner circle when it is their turn to parade.

👏 Families, please bring your energy! Clap, cheer, wave, and help make this a joyful experience for our students.
💙 A special shoutout to our 5th graders. This is their final Halloween Parade at Madison before they head to middle school, so we want to make it especially memorable.

🚪 Family Entry and Sign-In

Families should enter through the front office and sign in before heading to the playground.
You do not need to sign yourself out when you leave. However, if you plan to take your child home early, please stop by the office and sign your student out before leaving campus.

🎉 Classroom Celebrations

Some classes may also have special Halloween activities or classroom parties during the day. Please check your child’s teacher’s ParentSquare message for details about classroom plans.

We look forward to a fun, festive morning with our Madison community!

📚 A Special Option for Students

We know that not every family celebrates Halloween, and we want every student to feel welcomed, comfortable, and included at Madison.

Students who are not participating in Halloween activities are invited to spend time in the school library with Ms. Tung, where she will have fun activities and a movie ready for them to enjoy.

Families can simply let their child’s teacher know if they would like their student to participate in this option.

Madison Community Schools Update
Madison has applied to opt in to the California Community Schools Partnership Program.

This gives us an opportunity to strengthen how we support students and families by bringing together school staff, families, students, and community partners.

Our next step is to listen.

Over the coming weeks, we will ask students, families, and staff to share what is working well, what support is needed, and what opportunities we should build together.

We will also begin forming a Madison Community Schools Coalition so our community can help shape priorities and next steps.

This work matters because strong schools are built with their communities, not just for them.

More information, surveys, and opportunities to participate will be coming soon.
