- Minutes
- Roxanne Ansolabehere, Assistant Director of Bond Services, addressed the Board Trustees and the audience as follows: Her 38 year career is coming to an end. She displayed photographs in 6 libraries in a before/after format, reflecting renovations that have taken place in the libraries over the past year. This took place when our district leadership changed in 2013. The Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent heard the wishes of the community and reopened the libraries. 12,000 books a month were being checked out throughout the district, which was considered an unabashed victory. The renovations will enable the students to help them become innovative and creative thinkers. Our district libraries can be pointed to as state of the art, inviting, robust and well used, as our community and our students deserve. Roxanne sincerest hope is that this progress continues. We now have wonderful tools for enrichment in the after school programs. She encouraged all to utilize these resources to serve our students and maintain the staffing. Libraries are dynamic living entities. On a personal note Roxanne acknowledged that it takes a village and used this platform to thank the board members for supporting the vision; thanked the Cabinet, Director of Facilities and Operations and the library staff who give it their all daily. Lastly, she thanked Superintendent McLaughlin for pursuing the renovations and making the libraries the best.

- Minutes
- Stephen Brady, Principal of Lincoln Alternative Education Center (LAEC), presented the following items to the Board: Currently working on two pathways at LAEC; a hospitality pathway and Early Childhood Education (ECE) Pathway. These pathways enables students to move directly into the work force. Chabot College partners with us for the ECE pathway. This pathway. provides elective credits and gives students a glimpse of college life. Concurrent enrollment provides for high school and college credit. Hospitality Pathway: Tourism and Recreation and Hotel. LAEC is emphasizing the culinary portion of the pathway. The site does not have a kitchen so they are using prepared foods. LAEC was fortunate to have an outside organization that came to them; taught students about healthy foods. They also received a college experience since staff from the college come and work with the students. This pathway also provides concurrent enrollment credit. There was a unit on hotels which hopefully will be expanded in the next school year. Lincoln volunteer recognition is going to Shirley Beal. Photos were displayed of her involvement at the school site and the community. Stephen stated that Shirley never quits. He referred to her as the shadow principal of the school. A certificate was then presented to her for her outstanding work at the school.
